A Freeze Dryer Company Organised Around One Number

Most equipment companies are organised around models. We are organised around the cost of removing a pound of water — because that is the number that decides whether a freeze drying line makes money, and it is the number nobody was selling against.

The Premise

Shelf area is the wrong thing to sell, and everyone sells it

Walk any trade show floor and the conversation is square footage and pounds per batch. Both describe how much product fits. Neither describes what it costs you to dry it.

Two systems with identical shelf area can differ substantially in operating cost, because condenser capacity, refrigeration load and vacuum performance determine how much water actually leaves per cycle and how much energy and time that takes. The buyer compares the number on the brochure, and finds out about the other three after commissioning.

We build the other three first. That is the entire difference in how we specify a machine, and it is why every conversation here starts with your product rather than our catalog.

How We Work

Engineered to order, from the product backwards

Thirteen configurations across two thermal architectures is not a catalog to pick from. It is a starting set that gets configured against a specific water load.

Sizing runs product → machine, always. Characterize the product, set the batch weight, calculate the water load, derive the removal rate, then match condenser, refrigeration and vacuum to that rate. Shelf area is the output of that sequence, never the input. The whole method is published on this site with the arithmetic shown, so you can check our recommendation — or anyone else’s.

Every system runs on Siemens control architecture with Sublon technology tracking the freeze-drying process, so what a cycle did is recorded rather than remembered.

What We Publish

And what we refuse to publish

A vendor’s refusals tell you more than their claims. Here are ours, in writing.

We do not publish capacity, throughput or cycle-time figures. Those depend on your product’s form factor, loading depth and moisture — a single number would be right for one product and misleading for every other. We size your product and commit in writing.

We do not publish our cost per pound of water removed. It would be a performance claim about your operation, and it depends on your utility rates, your labor and your loading practice. We publish the formula instead, so you can run it on your own numbers — including on our quotes.

We do not name competitors. The argument for this equipment is the physics, and the physics does not need someone else to be wrong.

Where We Are

U.S.-engineered, U.S.-supported

Systems engineered and supported from Harrisonville, Missouri, for operations across the United States.

Support is not a call centre in a different timezone reading a script. The people who answer are the people who specified the machine, which is a practical advantage when the question is about hour fourteen of a cycle rather than a part number.
