Send Us Four Numbers and We Will Size Your System
Batch weight, starting moisture, target final moisture, and the cycle time your schedule needs. With those four figures we can run the water load and size a system on the first call instead of the third.
A commercial freeze dryer is engineered to order, and an honest number takes an engineer looking at your product.
- The Four Numbers
- Batch weight, starting moisture, target final moisture, and the cycle time your schedule needs.
- Your Number
- Cost per pound of water removed is built from your own inputs — your rates, your labor, your batches.
- Configuration
- [SPEC — Nick to confirm]
How this works
Tell us the product
What you are drying, how it is prepared, and how it will be loaded.
We run the water load
Mass balance from your batch weight and moisture figures, converted to a required removal rate.
You get the math
The water-load analysis, removal-rate basis, and size-class rationale — in writing, in the quote.
Engineered to order
Condenser, refrigeration, and vacuum matched to your load, with configurations stated explicitly.
What every quote you receive should state
Use this against any quote, ours included. A proposal that cannot answer these is not a proposal you can compare.
- Water removed per batch, in pounds
- The only figure that makes two quotes comparable.
- Sustained removal rate
- Capacity means nothing without the hours attached to it.
- Condenser ice capacity
- If it cannot hold a full cycle's water, the cycle stops early.
- Refrigeration capacity
- It has to carry the condensing load continuously, not briefly.
- Vacuum performance
- Sublimation conditions have to hold for the whole cycle.
- Usable shelf area and loading depth
- Depth changes drying behavior, not just how much fits.
- Connected electrical load
- Drives both your utility bill and your facility work.
- Cycle-time assumptions
- A cycle time quoted without its assumptions is a guess.
- Warranty and service terms
- [SPEC — Nick to confirm]
- Lead time and installation scope
- [SPEC — Nick to confirm]
What you are probably worried about
“I do not know my moisture numbers.”
Send what you have. A lab moisture analysis is worth the cost, and we can work from a reasonable estimate to get you a size class in the meantime.
“I am not ready to buy.”
Then do not. Run your numbers, keep the analysis, and use it to evaluate anyone. If contract processing is a better fit for your volume today, we will say so.
“I got a cheaper quote.”
Put both on the same yardstick: dollars per pound of water removed per hour, plus what it costs to run. Cheaper on day one is a different question from cheaper per pound.
“Will it fit my facility?”
Floor space, ceiling height, power, and service clearance are engineered into the quote, not discovered at install.
Designed, configured, and supported from Harrisonville, Missouri.
Sizing begins with the mass of water to be removed — every time.
Configured for your product and your production week, not off a shelf.
Eight conductive systems and five radiant HVT systems across the SUBLON line.
Questions about quoting and buying
How long does it take to get a quote?
Once we have your product, batch weight, and moisture figures, the sizing analysis is straightforward engineering work. Timing depends on how complete the inputs are and whether your product needs a trial run to establish drying behavior. Lead time and delivery terms are stated in the quote itself.
Do I need a lab moisture analysis first?
It helps, and it is worth the cost. Starting moisture and target final moisture drive the entire water-load calculation, so an accurate figure means an accurately sized system. We can start from a reasonable estimate and refine when your lab numbers arrive.
How do I compare freeze dryer quotes on the same basis?
Convert every quote to one yardstick: pounds of water removed per hour, and the cost to remove each of those pounds over the life of the system. Price per wet pound of capacity hides the differences that matter, because it says nothing about condenser capacity or cycle time.
What if my volume does not justify buying a machine yet?
Then buying one is the wrong move, and we will tell you that. Contract processing covers production while volume builds, and the water-load analysis you get from us stays valid for whenever the arithmetic turns in favor of owning equipment.
Can a system be sized for growth?
Yes, and it should be. Sizing for today only is one of the most expensive mistakes in this industry. If you expect volume to climb, the step from production scale to industrial scale gets planned before concrete is poured, not after.
Start with your four numbers
Batch weight, starting moisture, target final moisture, cycle time. That is enough to begin.

Thanks — we will run your numbers.
We have what we need to start the water-load calculation. Someone from Sublidyne will follow up at the address you entered with the sizing rationale written out — water removed per batch, sustained removal rate, condenser ice capacity, refrigeration capacity, and vacuum performance.
In the meantime, the two pages below cover most of what buyers ask before a sizing call.
