Freeze Dryer Parts and Service

U.S.-based support is a claim every equipment company makes. The version that matters is whether the person who answers understands what hour fourteen of a stalled cycle means.

Parts

The components that actually get replaced

Consumables and wear items, and the ones worth stocking before you need them.

Vacuum pumps and pump parts. Oil, seals, vanes, and complete pump replacement. Pump oil condition is the single most neglected maintenance item in commercial freeze drying and the one that most often shows up as "the machine got slow."

Trays and shelves. Tray flatness decides contact, and contact decides cycle uniformity across a shelf stack. Warped trays are a real and invisible throughput loss.

Condenser and refrigeration components. Sensors, valves, controls and service items.

Seals and gaskets. A door seal that leaks slightly does not fail loudly; it just makes every cycle longer than it should be.

Service

What we support, and how

Support from the people who specified the machine rather than from a script.

Commissioning and installation support, preventive maintenance scheduling, cycle troubleshooting, controls support on the Siemens platform, and refrigeration service coordination.

Cycle troubleshooting is the one worth naming separately, because "the machine is slow" is almost never a machine fault. It is usually loading depth, a leaking seal, condenser loading beyond design, or pump oil — and telling those apart is a data question the Sublon process tracking already answers.

Preventive Maintenance

The short list that prevents most calls

None of this is proprietary and all of it is cheaper than a stalled batch.

Vacuum pump oil on schedule and checked by condition, not calendar alone. Door and port seals inspected for compression set. Condenser defrost completing fully between cycles. Tray flatness checked annually. Refrigeration charge and superheat verified under load. Controls firmware and logging verified so the record exists when you need it.

What maintenance does a commercial freeze dryer need?

Vacuum pump oil on condition, seal inspection, verified condenser defrost between cycles, annual tray flatness checks, and refrigeration charge verified under load. Most "the machine got slow" calls trace to one of those rather than to a fault.

Why is my freeze dryer cycle taking longer than it used to?

Usually one of four things: pump oil degraded, a door or port seal with compression set, incomplete condenser defrost leaving ice load at cycle start, or loading depth that crept up. All four are measurable, and logged cycle data separates them quickly.
